A Week Through My Lens: Week 1

I decided, since  I have this great new blog dedicated to my photography, that I should have a great new photography challenge to go along with that blog. It seems logical, right?

The trick is, what kind of photo challenge. I don't really want to assign people something that they should post every week. What if they haven't taken any photographs that meet my requirements? Am I assigning homework at that point? No thank you. People should photograph what they want at the time. After all, some weeks I have pictures of flowers and mountains and some week I have pictures of the animals. I always have pictures of my boys, of course. :0)

Then it came to me. How about something where people could post a collage, or even just a lot of individual pictures, showing off their week? It could be anything from a football game to a first day of dance class to a bunch of pictures of clouds. Either way, it is a way to show off what you did that week...and it's motivation to keep up with picture editing, even if it's only week by week. (I say this after 4 hours of going through pictures last night, and I am still only up to Thanksgiving!)

So, here it is! The first ever, week one, of A Week Through My Lens. Excited yet? I know I am. :0)

Here's my week:

Here's how you play:

1. Keep your eye out during the week for interesting things to take photographs of. It doesn't matter who or what it is, the idea is to be out there taking pictures.

2. Every weekend blog about a week through your lens. Show off your pictures in a collage or just in a long post. Again, it doesn't matter how many. One great photograph is just as good as 100 great photographs. Share the story of your week in words or just let the pictures tell the story...doesn't matter. Just get those pictures in a blog! Make sure you put my A Week Through My Lens button in the blog somewhere, or at least a link back to Life Through My Lens.

3. Come back here to Life Through My Lens and link up your blog post. (Please leave a link to your A Week Through My Lens post, not just your blog!)

4. Check out some of the other people who have linked up and see what they did this week! Make it fun for everybody!

5. The most important part...HAVE FUN!
